Shareholders met in the Parish Hall on Tuesday 12th November 2024 and voted unanimously in favour of starting to raise the funds to purchase the Methodist Chapel and schoolroom. There is a deadline of 6 months to show that this is possible before the Methodists put the property of the open market. If this happens, the shop will have to close because it is unlikely that a private buyer would want the shop on their property.
Chair Mike Porter and Treasurer, Wendy Handcock outlined the current position, giving details about current finances and future projections to a packed hall. They are in the process of drawing up a new business plan ready for a launch of shares. Pledge forms for donations and shares can be picked up at the community shop.
